Behavior in the Classroom
Aloha! We have started out our year great! Each child will have a circle hanging on a Surf Themed Number line in the classroom. The circle can move up the number line reinforcing positive behavior in our very own classroom. Students will begin on the #3 so that they can move forward or backward. When the students reach Surfboard #10, they will be given an incentive or prize. They will also bring home a note to let you know they made it to 10. They will then start at #3 again. The goal is for students to always be striving to reach the 10th Number.
On the other hand, if a student chooses to break a rule in our classroom, the circle will be moved back one number. If a child displays continuous ill behavior and the bean reaches #0 or is continuously moving their circle back that day if they are on a higher number, a parent or guardian will be notified by note or a phone call.
It is in your child’s best interest that we work together with regard to his/her education. If the circle on more than one occasion is continuously being moved in the negative direction for the same reason even after notes/phone calls have been made, I will be working out a separate, individualize plan with your child to help correct the behavior.
Our Classroom Rules
Be kind.
Be safe.
Listen to others.
Keep hands and feet to yourself.
Do your best.
